Manor House Kluss

South of the gates to the town of Wismar, amidst a pond area, is situated the estate Kluss. To the West of the Wallensteingraben (Wallenstein trench) three linked buildings rise which were built at different times.

A mill and a granary as estate buildings are joined to the manor house on the Southwest side. The house was built during the mid 19th century and is a two storey rendered building above a high basement, noticeable are medieval architectural quotations which were in frequent use around this time. On both fronts are to be found each a triaxial central risalit, towards the Wallenstein trench eight-sided towers with pinnacles emphasize the portal. From 1782 on the estate had been the property of the Ziemsen family for many years.

Nowadays the manor house is used by creative artists.
