Manor House Pütnitz

The Pütnitz manor house lies north of the city of Ribnitz-Damgarten. The Recknitz winds its way through the estate park to flow into the Ribnitzer Lake a little later.

The listed manor house is a brick building which was built on older foundation walls in 1836. It received its present look in 1906 by being rebuilt and extended in Art Nouveau style. The von Dechow family was enfeoffed with the Pütnitz estate in 1261. The sole heiress Caroline von Dechow married Christian von Zanthier in 1788. Pütnitz has been under the ownership of the von Zanthier family since 1810. Later in 1928 and 1937 Hans Dietrich von Zanthier became the owner. The feudal estate to which the small farm Steinort belonged had 1,023 ha. in 1937. The manor house was used as a school after 1945. The von Dechow and von Zanthier family tomb is in the former estate park. This chapel was built by the wife of Joachim Christoph von Dechow, maiden name Schmiterlow, in neo-classical style in 1797. The manor house was the property of the city Ribnitz-Damgarten up until 2010 and then sold.

The new owner lovingly renovated the manor house in 2011 and 2012 and built holiday apartments. Here, on the Recknitz, 400 m from the mouth of the Recknitz on the Saaler Bodden, guests can relax or celebrate family occasions in one of the 10 comfortably furnished, large and very individual apartments in wonderful surroundings. You feel you go back to quieter times here without having to give up on modern comforts. The manor house has a large terrace, a room with a cosy fireplace and an event room for up to 60 people. The small harbour of Damgarten is only 5 minutes on foot, Ribnitz is 10 - 15 minutes by bicycle and the coast is a 15-minute drive.
