Zapel Manor House

Until 1797 the estate was in the possession of Andreas Hartwig von Bernstorff, until 1909 of the von Lübbe family, followed by Rudolf Kressner and Paul Moeller.

In 1926 Wilhelm Borchert acquired the estate from the brothers Lt.-Col. (Ret.) Herbert Klotz and Councilor (Ret.) Paul Klotz. It remained the property of the family until dispossession in 1945.

From the winter of 1944/1945 refugees occupied the house, which was blown up in 1975.

Wolfgang Borchert, a descendant of the last owner, has been engaged in agriculture in Zapel since 1991.

The ruins of a two-storey cow barn remain from the former agricultural complex.

In the nearby park are storyboards on the history of the estate.
