Castle grounds and wildlife park Ivenack

The sweeping Ivenack landscape park is situated west of Ivenack on the road to Basepohl, north west of the Ivenack lake. The centre of the park is marked by the Ivenack castle.

In 1880 the park was redesigned into an English landscape garden by reusing parts of the existing baroque park.

Orangery and  manor house as well as the Ivenack lake are structural basic points of the layout.

In the adjacent enclosure fallow deer has been kept since the 17th century.

One must not forget the extremely well worth seeing thousand year old oaks of Ivenack, in the immediate vicinity of the landscape park.
