Castle grounds and wildlife park Ivenack

The sweeping Ivenack landscape park is situated west of Ivenack on the road to Basepohl, North West of the Ivenack Lake. The centre of the park is marked by the Ivenack castle.

Around 1800 the park was redesigned into an English landscape garden by re-using parts of the existing baroque park.

Orangery and manor house as well as the Ivenack Lake are structural basic points of the lay-out.

In the adjacent enclosure fallow deer has been kept since the 17th century.

Not to be forgotten and well worth seeing are the thousand years old oak trees of Ivenack, in the immediate vicinity of the landscape park.
